Sony PSP is ready to get set and go in the USA
The time is almost here when the Sony’s PlayStation Portable would be making its debut in one of the largest market in the world… the United States of America. The parent company is expecting to sell out their starting lot of 1 million units within days of the launch due for today that is March 24. The gaming console makes it official launch in the states at Midnight Eastern Time tonight.
The problem however for the entertainment giant is whether they have the capacity to meet the demand in the existing markets like the home country of Japan and the new markets in the USA simultaneously. Sony PSP is selling in huge numbers already and additional demand in massive numbers from America would add up a lot of pressure on the manufacturers of the gaming console.
Sony has already admitted that their supplies would be in the process of being delivered to the end stores when the launch takes place in the America. However, they have decided to stick to their target of achieving sales of around 3 million PSPs around the world before the current financial year ends in a couple of days.
The company has special offer packages for the customers in the United States with PSP being offered in combination with extras like the UMD (Universal Media Disc) version of the blockbuster movie Spiderman 2. However, the launch in the huge market in the US meant that Sony had to delay the launch of Sony PSP in the European countries by a couple of months to keep the supplies constant to meet the demand.
