Microsoft Xbox Live online service updated with Windows Live Messenger support

Microsoft has now delivered their much awaited update to the Xbox Live online service. The updated service now adds support for the Windows Live Messenger enabling the gamers to interact with the buddies on their Live Messenger.

This new feature also allows the gamers to keep a unified friends list on Xbox 360 consoles, PCs and Windows.

The company added that the Windows Live Messenger will allow for up to six conversations on the Xbox 360, PC, and mobile phones.

Microsoft is also scheduled to make available an Xbox 360 text-input accessory this summer to support instant messaging.

The company added that the updated Xbox Live also has new features like on-screen pop-ups to display name and gamer score value of an Achievement, new family settings for video and voice chat, a new Xbox Live Marketplace blade, faster download speeds, and option to turn off consoles after downloading content.
