Nvidia launches GeForce 7200 GS for budget buyers

Graphic card manufacturer Nvidia recently launched their GeForce 8800 Ultra which they claimed offered the “world’s fastest gaming experience”.

The company had priced that card at an astonishing price tag of $829 which makes it even more expensive than the most expensive next generation gaming console in the market Playstation 3.

Nvidia has now realized that they need to offer something for the budget segment as well and they have now launched their new GeForce 7200 GS.

The company added that this card would soon be featured on personal computer products made by companies all around the world.

NVIDIA’s desktop GPU general manager Ujesh Desai said in a statement: “Windows Vista, which benefits greatly from additional 3D performance, is gaining market share and mainstream applications such as Microsoft Maps, Google Picasso and iTunes are also starting to take advantage of 3D graphics. By making a small investment in graphics performance, customers buying Vista PCs can go from an underwhelming experience to one that delivers exceptional performance and features.”

The card supports Microsoft DirectX 9.0, Shader Model 3.0, and high dynamic-range (HDR) lighting. There is no information available on its compatibility with DirectX 10.
