Microsoft to debut next-generation Xbox on MTV

In an unusual decision by the world’s largest software firm, Microsoft has announced that they would be promoting the new generation Xbox four days before its official release on the MTV youth channel. It would take place during a one-hour show on the entertainment network on May 12. The official launch however is slated for E3 in Los Angeles.

MTV have Elijah Wood to host the show, which would now definitely be watched by gaming fans all around the world. Elijah is known for his performances in the massively popular Lord of the Rings Trilogy movie series. He would be supported by popular rock group The Killers who would be performing at the event. It makes it debut on national television in the USA at 9:30pm. Other countries get to see the show on the following Friday evening.

Senior representatives of the MTV are ecstatic about this announcement from the software giant, which would give the channels rating a big boost for the event. John Shea, executive vice president at MTV Networks said in a statement to the press: “We’re proud that Microsoft considers MTV the premier global network to launch its new Xbox gaming console and reveal the first look to MTV viewers around the world”.

Also on display would be sneak previews of the upcoming gaming titles for this gaming machine, which would take on PlayStation 3 as it comes to the market in the coming times. E3 is going to be the hot point where all the three gaming industry giants Sony, Nintendo and of course Microsoft are due to make major announcements regarding their upcoming products.
