Guitar Hero: Rocks the 80s coming to Sony Playstation 2

Videogame publisher Activision has finally confirmed that they are indeed going to launch the “Guitar Hero: Rocks the 80s” for the Sony Playstation 2 gaming console.

This title would be developed exclusively for the Sony PS2 gaming console now has a successor in the form of Sony Playstation 3.

the company said that this title will pay homage to a classic rock era with ’80s hair metal. It would also feature hits from several other genres that rocked the eighties.

Some of the tracks to be included in this upcoming title include ‘I Wanna Rock’ by Twisted Sister, ‘I Ran’ by Flock of Seagulls, ‘Round and Round’ as made famous by Ratt, ‘I Want Candy’ by Bow Wow Wow, ‘Metal Health’ by Quiet Riot, ‘Holy Diver’ by Dio, and ‘Heat Of The Moment’ by Asia.

Dusty Welch, Head of Publishing at RedOctane had this to say about this new title for the Sony PS2: “The 80s features an amazing variety of rock genres from hair metal to punk to new wave, and our dedicated ‘Guitar Hero’ fans will definitely appreciate the opportunity to play all the new and exciting content we’ve added.”

incidentally, Guitar Hero III is currently rumored to be made currently by Neversoft for several platforms including Sony PS3, Microsoft Xbox 360, and Nintendo Wii.

    Damn, why cant it be on the 360?!? I wanna rock out to holy diver and I WANNA ROCK!
