Halo 3 coming out on September 25

Software giant Microsoft has announced that they would be launching the highly anticipated much awaited video game title Halo 3 on September 25 this year.

The launch of Halo 3 is expected to be pretty significant for Microsoft as it is expected to boost the sales of their Xbox 360 video game console in the market.

The Halo 3 edition is the final installment of the hugely successful video game series for the Xbox platform. The first edition of the game helped Microsoft gain the respect of gamers with their newly launched Xbox gaming console.

The Halo 2 edition came out in November 2004 and created records of some sorts by racking up $125 million in sales in its first day.

Shane Kim, head of Microsoft Game Studios spoke about this upcoming launch: This is going to be a critical holiday for us versus Sony, especially on the console generation side, and they don’t really have an answer for ‘Halo 3′. Given that, I suspect ‘Halo 3′ to drive a lot of Xbox 360 sales and Xbox Live memberships. I think at those midnight (launch) events, there are going to be a lot of people walking out with an Xbox 360 along with their copies of ‘Halo 3′.”
