Sony: 2007 is the year of the games
Sony has said that this year is the year of the games for the owners of the Sony Playstation 3 gaming console.
The company said that the videogame developers around the world would be delivering this year the must-have titles on the PS3 platform.
This would help them drive the sales of the console which has till now failed to challenge both Nintendo Wii and Microsoft Xbox 360.
A lot of gamers have been disappointed with the high price tag of the PS3 console which still lacks some exclusive games to lure them into acquiring the device.
Jack Tretton, president and chief executive officer of Sony Computer Entertainment America responded: “The content message will be addressed very nicely this year.”
he added that the company expects to have more than 15 exclusive titles by March next year when the financial year ends.
Some of the upcoming exclusive games for the PS3 console includes “Warhawk,” dragon-combat title “Lair,” and Sony’s newly released baseball game “MLB: The Show.”
Tretton added about the high price of the PS3 console: “There’s no question that that’s a challenge. Hopefully content helps to deliver the proof points and the justification behind the cost of the machine”
