Bill Gates sure that Xbox 2 will upstage Sony PlayStation 3
World’s biggest software company Microsoft is gunning for the entertainment giant Sony with their next generation videogaming console Xbox 2. Microsoft Chairperson Bill Gates said that with the Xbox 2 they have got a device so capable that it gives them the capabilities to take Sony heads on and beat them at a game they have dominated for so long.
He was addressing a meeting of journalists and contributed the confidence on the people working on this console. He even went to the extent of claiming that Xbox 2 will not just be a gaming console by a complete digital entertainment hub. It is expected to come with improvised tools to make multiplayer gaming on the Internet simpler and fun.
In fact, the software menu of the Xbox 2 is told to be similar to their Windows XP Media Center Edition. They call the prototype version Xenon. This was revealed in a statement issued by the company to the Society of American Business Editors and Writers.
Gates said: “If you’re used to that menu, when you use this Xenon you’ll see a menu a lot like that that lets you get photos, TV, music and all those different things. We came out of this round a strong number two. Now people are looking at the two companies at a pretty much equal basis.”
Both Sony and Microsoft are expected to release more details about their updated gaming consoles sometime later this month at the gaming conference E3. However, Microsoft would be unveiling their Xbox 2 earlier on the MTV Television Channel on May 12.

There are some things that you are missing. You can’t claim the PS3 will be a better console based solely on numbers. Yes, the Cell processor is phenominal, but writing code for it is so difficult (even Sony admits that all the pressure is on the developers) that very few game companies will fully utilize the processor. Also, the graphics are still dependent upon the capabilities of the GPU, not the CPU. The GPUs on the X360 and PS3 are virtually neck and neck. PS3 does have more power this round, however Microsoft has the upper hand with marketing: 1) Simple Development cycle, 2) Xbox Live, 3) Media Center, 4) X360 comes out 6 months earlier, 5) Halo 3.
I will own both, but I see the X360 as more useful as it is far more than just a gaming console.
Plus the PS2 proved it’s not about the hardware, it’s about the games. It’s Microsoft’s turn to reinforce that proof.

wot is goin on wiv the PS3 controllers hey look like oned of those cheap copy pads u get for gaming on your Pc. wot a joke. i have to say thugh that the ps3 does look amazing but still , the design is almost a oval shaped replica of the ps2, x360 on the other hand, has all the revolutionary features of xbox 1 + more. the controllers look and probably feel great, the console itself is something new all together, so far , lookin at da prototypes and reading the specs of the two rival products, i give, on a scale of 1 – 10 – ps3_6/10 x360_9/10

The ps3 might be pretty powerful and what not but the Xbox 360 looks way better the ps3 looks like some space crap droped aopn earth, the xbox 360 design is more freindly and approachable.. And plus sony puts out a bunch of crappy games but they will never have the king of games Halo who rules the gaming world.
Halo is the reason I’m switching over to Microsoft, let Sony come out with game that comes to Halo and just maybe I buy the PS3. I’m surley going to by the XBox 360 when it comes out.

i used to be a big playstation fan..i mean.. my friends talked my mom into getting me a xbox instead of a ps2… i was dissapointed, but then i found out that the xbox is way more powerful than the ps2..i dont have any dislikes on the xbox… im not even going to bother looking at specs. and so on on the ps3.. because i know the 360 will blow away the ps3.. just like they did beafore…

hey, maybe microsoft will actually turn a profit with this one! they better hope so considering they’re still in the black by about 150M in their gaming divison. At least they haven’t marked up the xbox by 400% like their OS. Like David stated above, its all about the games, so thats why Microsoft is trying to dazzle you with all this extra junk that’s completely useless to the average consumer, so they can hide the fact that the only decent game is HALO! Oh yeah, and I needed something else that runs Windows Media Player…

It’s now emerged that most of the demonstrations that Sony have been showing of the PlayStation 3 are fake. This won’t strike anyone as being very surprising with Sony’s past record (the PS2 announcement, lots of fancy demos and “Toy Story graphics in real-time” look at what we actually got).
Earlier Epic’s Mark Rein had confirmed that only their Unreal 3 engine demo was being rendered on early PS3 hardware and a few other less then spectacular titles, it even emerged that the Fight Night demonstration that EA showed had been put together on an Xbox 360 and then ported over to the PS3 as Sony had been so late in delivering their development kits to EA, despite the advanced graphics chip the PS3 had it still suffered from slow down and aliasing.
The most astonishing demonstration was definitely the Killzone video – Guerrilla’s Jan-Bart Van Beek finally let it slip that it was all pre-rendered.
Is the Killzone sequence a fair example of what people can expect from realtime gameplay on Playstation 3?
Jan-Bart: It’s basically a representation of the look and feel of the game we’re trying to make.
It represents what you’re trying to do with the game? Well where’s the actual game then? Stop showing us videos and show us the game.

It’s just a shame that Microsoft’s honesty – showing us real games is going to be punished by so much of the press fooled by Sony’s videos. I wish they’d just remember back to the PS2 announcement, when they said the “Emotion Engine” would blow everything else away.

Xbox 360 is doomed, just look at the graphics on the PS3. Xbox 360 looks a little better than the original Xbox. Also, Sony is planning a new online gaming environment much better than Xbox Live. And the graphics engine on the PS3 is far more advanced than the Xbox 360 allowing graphics to be equally as impressive as on the movie Final Fantasy Spirits Within, while Xbox 360 will maintain the same graphic technology as the original Xbox. And to that dumb arse who said that Xbox will support more controllers than the PS3, the Xbox 360 will only support four controllers whereas the PS3 will support 7 with blue tooth technology, not like the Xbox that will have 2.4 ghz analog technology.

Also, the PS3 will be near 500 dollars, but the 360 will be 450. So ill rather spend 500 and have a blue ray disc player with the best console game ever, and spend 50 additional dollars and not pay 450 to make that thief red neck bastaurd Bill Gates richer than he already is.

I still prefer PC as a gaming console. It is the most complete and amazing gaming console ever. =] PS3 is gonna pawn xbox, even though coding for the console is going to be difficult, it is going to be worth it. I don’t know why but I prefer graphics vs gameplay. Gameplay comes second after graphics. That’s because most games that I have played, those with better graphics are most likely to have a better gameplay. But that’s just my opinion.
Xbox on the other hand, is solely based on business startegy. And it does give xbox an edge. Microsoft has proven its success over the years and they are something to be looked upon.
As a PC gamer enthusiast i’d say that it is like intel vs AMD style of rivalry. Both has its ups and downs, but gamers prefer AMD chips. Right now we will have to wait until what the figures will show.

The Xbox 360 is a nice machine no doubt with 512 MB of GDDR3 Main RAM @ 700 MHz However the PS3 with 256MB XDR Main RAM @3.2GHz moves graphing Data streams roughly over 2.28 times faster than the Xbox console would…. if we do the math for the Xbox on MB per Mhz rate we get 512MB/700MHz, and for the PS3 we get 256MB/3,200MHz (reminder 1 GHz equals 1000MHz). Now we can compare rates, the PS3 Data stream is 256MB/3200MHz which is equivalent to 512MB/1,600MHz. So from comparing the data rate of the xbox of 512MB/700MHz to the PS3 data rate of 512MB/1600MHz it can be concluded that the playstation cell chip moves data at more than twice the rate that the Xbox chip would.

Both machines are looking so sweet, and I will have a very tough time choosing between them, but I think the PS3 will just cut it as the better machine. Whether Sony will outsell Microsoft or not is harder to call. Think about it, last time, The PS2 was made first, and sold tons. Then the XBOX came along, and was the better console, but didn’t sell as many, purely because Sony got there first. This time around, however, it could switch around. Well, I’m saving for the PS3, because it is better, and cor, have you seen that Killzone 2 video?

the xbox 360 will be much better than the…. excuse me while i laugh ps3 just look at the xbox, it must have been at least ten times better than the ps2. I looked at a game on my friend’s ps2 and the graphics were alwful, i have higher spec games on my sega megadrive. Also the xbox may have lost money but a mere 150million is nothing to microsoft, the super power of the digital world.

Sony has a history of Over hyping and underdelivering. The same thing will happen with the 360 and ps3. The two consoles are very similar but i believe the 360 will come out on top.

i totally agree with the guy’s who have an eye for ps3. x-box 360 isn’t like ps3, ps3 is better and much more advanced. and about the mp3 files you can store on the 360, its ONLY A BONUS. mp3 is only a song, i’d rather play cd’s on my ps3 then playing them on 360. so my oppinion ps3 rulessss !!! 360 might be out now, but i’m not gonna buy it, my bet is on sony’s ps3. and even tough 360 has halo 3, ps3 has metal gear solid 4. wich is one of the best games ever. hideo kojima has always proved how much love he has for ps2, wel ps3 won’t damage his trust, it only gets better. no matter how much succes the x-box has, playstation will always be the most best game system no matter what.

Definately Playstation 3 is better than xbox 360.The features of ps3 are looking amazing.Sony has done a great job and i just can’t for its release.
Sony has made that consule also depending on its look. It has total 7 bluetooth contollers which feels simply great.
I’ll give 6 on 10 for xbox and 9.5 on 10 to ps 3.

U ps3 fans have no idea what the wannabe company(sony) does just to get noticed. xbox 360 has the most awesome graphics and ps3 cant match that so what do they do?
they make up pre-rendered demos and say that ps3 is beta. they wish. these wannabes should just admit that XBOX 360 is “THE MOST AWESOME GAMING CONSOLE EVER”.

I don’t know. The 360 does have great graphix and the PS3 has pretty good graphix also. But who knows what console will come out on top. Sure some people think the PS3 isn’t gonna come out on top because it’s gonna cost a $100 to $200 more than the 360, but there are a lot of people out there making enough money to spend on game consoles like PS3. Some people even think the 360 is going to get put out of the market because they think the PS3 is going have better graphix. That’s not a complete statement yet but it’s a possibilty. There’s one thing that u can say PS3 beats 360 at and that’s the amount of memory on the hard drive. The PS3 will have 2 different prices with 2 different hard drives. One will cost $500 with a 20GB hard drive and more. While the other one will cost $600 with a 60GB hard drive and more. The 360 has 2 different prices also, but only one of them comes with a hard drive with only 20GB on it and that’s the $400 system which also comes with a wireless controller, headset, ethernet cable, and a component HD A/V cable. Sony is a bunch of liars, I wouldn’t doubt Sony trying to plagiarize Microsoft’s video gaming work. If, they are not creative in thnking for themselves and creating their own ideas Microsoft and Nintendo will beat the snot out of them. Sega is partners with Sony and they are honest people Sony it isn’t worth it cheating at being the best my advice quit while you are doing good.

The Truth, The real truth is Hideo Kojima is a brilliant game designer creating The Metal Gear series but, Bill Gates is the biggest technology successor this world has ever seen. He, has been making Microsoft computers over 10 years and is retired doing what he loves best. He, is truly blessed by giving Sony if what Sony liar said, is in deep water.
