Microsoft, Wal-Mart being blamed for an infant’s death

Software giant Microsoft and retailing giant Wal-Mart have been named in a lawsuit stemming from the death of an infant boy.

The lawsuit claims that the Xbox 360 gaming console sold by the company through the retailing store caught fire due to a faulty power adopter.

The fire was the cause of the death of a child. The lawsuit also blames the maker of the power supply the name of the company is not clear at the moment.

The lawsuit was originally filed in December last year though the incident took place two years before that.

Incidentally, Microsoft had launched the Xbox 360 gaming console in 2005. The lawsuit claims that the incident took place in 2004. Seems like the lawsuit is confusing the original Xbox console with the new generation one.

The family behind this lawsuit is asking for damages “in excess of $50,000.”

They could have a strong case in hand considering Microsoft recalled more than 14 million Xbox power cords due to fire concerns in 2005.
