Nintendo Wii Virtual Console now has 100 games

Nintendo has released the Zelda II: The Adventure of Link game on the Nintendo Wii’s Virtual console. With this, the console has on offer more than 100 games.

Zelda II: The Adventure of Link was originally released in 1988 and is likely to be sold for 500 Wii points ($5).

Nintendo also revealed that more than 4.7 million Virtual Console games have been downloaded worldwide since the console was launched last year in November.

The most popular games on the Nintendo’s Virtual Console are:
1. Super Mario Bros. (NES)
2. Super Mario 64 (N64)
3. Mario Kart 64 (N64)
4. Super Mario World (SNES)
5. The Legend of Zelda (NES)

Microsoft had reported earlier this year that their Xbox Live Arcade has seen 25 million downloads worldwide. That figure however included demos which are made available to the Xbox owners for free. Sony too has revealed that more than 13 million pieces of content had been downloaded worldwide from the PlayStation Store.
