Sony Playstation Portable gets 3.5 firmware update
Sony has now released the latest 3.5 firmware update for their Playstation Portable handheld gaming console. This adds on to the latest 1.8 PlayStation 3 firmware Sony released sometime back.
These two firmware releases together enables the Remote Play functionality on the two devices manufactured by Sony.
As a result, Sony Playstation Portable device and the Sony Playstation 3 gaming console can now connect to each other.
PS3 here would serve as a media hub while the PSP would be used as a portable viewer. The PS3 needs to be connected to the internet and the owner would be able to access media content on the console using the PSP device anywhere as long as net connectivity is available.
However, the connectivity between the two consoles does not enable any kind of gaming functionality.
Sony’s latest firmware update for the PSP also adds new RSS Channel Guide to offer better support for RSS feeds.
