Sony now talking with the Church of England over their Resistance: Fall of Man videogame
Videogame company Sony has said that they are now communicating with the Church of England related to the complaints raised about their Playstation 3 videogame Resistance: Fall of Man.
The Church of England had raised objection to Sony’s use of the Manchester Cathedral premise in a sequence in the game.
Sony Computer Entertainment spokeswoman Nanako Kato confirmed in a statement: “We take the church’s views seriously.”
The Church of England had claimed that Sony had not asked for their permission before using the historic place in their game’s storyline.
Sony said that the point of the game was to depict a backdrop of an old church. They had not specifically based the area on the Manchester Cathedral.
Industry experts believe that it would now be extremely hard for Sony to delete just those scenes from the game which features the offending sequences.
The game as per market reports has already seen sales of more than 2 million units.
