Sony considering dropping Playstation 3 prices

Excellent news for the gamers who have waiting so long to buy the Sony Playstation 3 gaming console.

Sony CEO Howard Stringer has mentioned in a statement that the company is currently considering plans to cut the price of their Playstation 3 gaming console.

He was quoted as saying: “That (cut in the price of PS3) is what we are studying at the moment. That’s what we are trying to refine.”

Stringer further admitted that they are facing intense competition from rival gaming consoles Nintendo Wii and Microsoft Xbox 360.

He said: “Nintendo Wii has been a successful enterprise, and a very good business model, compared with ours … because it’s cheaper.”

Sony Playstation 3 continues to remain the most expensive console of the three next generation gaming consoles available in the market today.

I think if sony is thingking of dropping the price on the ps3 they should just do it. Talking about it would just hurt theri sales more. I got the PS1 and ps2 at release. For them to lower the price is a good thing for me but all this talk is just making me delay buying the ps3, which I am sure alot of people is doing aswel.
