Nintendo Revolution to Ship Next Year
Latest reports in says that the leader of the gaming consoles in the market until Sony decided to step in, Nintendo has suggested that their next generation console Revolution would not make it to the market in 2005. This means, that they would perhaps be the last one to launch their latest product after Microsoft Xbox 360 and Sony PlayStation 3.
They have also announced that Revolution would be the smallest ever console from their stables. Nintendo for long had little competition in the 1980s and early 1990s. However, they were practically dominated in the late 1990s with Sony coming out with their PlayStation range of gaming consoles.
Revolution is expected to be slightly longer than a DVD case and three times the width. It would come powered by an IBM processor being specially developed for it codenamed Broadway and would come with a special ATi Technologies processor codenamed Hollywood. It would support old format gaming disks, which is good news for Nintendo fans, and it would also feature wireless internet access.
E3 is expected to be the hub where Nintendo will come out with more details about this upcoming gaming console from their stables. However, the problem for Nintendo will be that the competition would be ahead of them in releasing their versions of the gaming consoles, which would probably leave little market for them to capture when they come out with Nintendo Revolution.
