MindQuiz Game being pulled out of UK market by Ubisoft

Ubisoft has now pulled out their MindQuiz game from the UK market. The game has been developed for the Nintendo DS platform and has been found to contain offensive language.

The company admitted that they failed to pick up on the offending word during its quality assurance in Japan.

The BBC reported that the game does not spew any curse words but poor performance from the gamer is apparently rated by the game with words which are generally considered derogatory to disabled individuals.

A woman who complained to the BBC about the game said in a statement: “I thought it was absolutely appalling that a word like this should be used to describe someone who has not achieved very well. My daddy also has cerebral palsy and he is in his mid-50s and this is a word that really offends my dad.”

Ubisoft had this to say: “As soon as we were made aware of the issue we stopped distribution of the product and are now working with retailers to pull the game off the market. The game was developed in Japan, and we unfortunately did not pick up on the offending word in our quality assurance. We are currently working with the developer to find a way to rectify the issue.”
