Japan: Wii outsold PS3 6 to 1 in June
Nintendo Wii has been reported to have outsold the Sony Playstation 3 6 to 1 in the Japanese market in the month of June!
This was stated in a report by a Japanese gaming magazine Enterbrain. The report further solidifies Nintendo’s dominating position in the Japanese videogame industry.
The magazine reported that Nintendo sold 270,974 units of the Wii in the four weeks ended June 24. This is much better compared to 41,628 units for the PS3 and 17,616 units for Xbox 360.
Nintendo’s DS handheld gaming console is also performing much better compared to Sony’s PSP device in the Japanese market.
Overall, Nintendo seems to be dominating Sony pretty comprehensively in Japan. Sony is hoping to make a comeback this year by launching a series of new games for the PS3 platform.
