Microsoft Xbox 360 Elite to launch in Japan in October
Software giant Microsoft has announced that they would launched the enhanced edition of their Xbox 360 gaming console (Xbox 360 Elite) in the Japanese market in October this year.
Japan is a crucial market for Microsoft where they have traditionally failed to compete against both Sony and Nintendo.
The Xbox 360 is failing to match the sales of both Playstation 3 and Nintendo Wii in the Japanese market.
Microsoft would be hoping that the Xbox 360 Elite edition would boost the sales in this market.
The company said that the Xbox 360 Elite would be sold in Japan for 47,800 yen. This is much higher compared to 25,000 yen for Nintendo’s Wii. But still cheaper than 49,980 yen for the basic version of Sony’s Playstation 3.
Microsoft is already selling the Xbox 360 Elite edition in the US market for $479.99.
