Electronic Entertainment Expo opens on July 10
Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) is scheduled to open in Santa Monica, California on July 10. This time the Expo would be different as it has now been made an invite only event.
Entertainment Software Association, the company that runs E3 has announced that they are limiting the attendance to about 5,000.
ESA President Douglas Lowenstein added: “When we asked key audiences what they wanted in the new event, we heard that they wanted opportunities for high-level meetings in a business-like setting, to play games, network, and socialize, to see major company offerings while also preserving the sense of discovery that is so much a part of the show, and to hear substantive presentations on the most important issues and trends facing the industry.”
Microsoft recently announced that they would provide the E3 event coverage to its Xbox Live Silver and Gold subscribers. Market analysts believe that this is a good move from the company. David Riley, senior manager at NPD Group spoke about this: “Microsoft’s decision to once again make E3 information available on Marketplace is a great way of reaching Xbox 360 consumers, especially those looking for content specific to the platform.”
