Playstation 3 60 GB model now cost USD 499 in USA
Sony has finally announced that they are reducing the price of their 60 GB model of the Sony Playstation 3 gaming console by USD 100.
The console would now sell for USD 499 in the US market. We have already seen a lot of reports claiming that some retail stores had begun selling the PS3 console at reduced prices in the recent days.
Incidentally, the announcement of this price cut Playstation 3 console came just two days before the E3 Media & Business Summit in Santa Monica, Calif.
The event is likely to see several new announcements from all the three major videogame console makers Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo.
Sony added in its statement that they have sold 3.6 million PS3s in the fiscal year ending March 31. They are now aiming to sell another 11 million in the current fiscal year.
