Chinese edition of World of Warcraft no longer has bones and skeletons
Xinhua news agency reported in a news item that the Chinese edition of the popular World of Warcraft online game lacks the bones and skeletons which featured in earlier editions of the game.
Chinese gamers got their hands on the latest edition of the game pretty late compared to the gamers in other nations worldwide.
And the latest update seems to have some censored elements which has made the gamers angry.
An anonymous staffer with The9, which runs WoW in China was quoted as saying to media sources: “It’s to promote a healthy and harmonious on-line environment.”
Another sources mentioned that this change was made as part of an “operational strategy”.
The Chinese government has been suggesting that the internet companies should work on cleaning up the web to offer only legal and “healthy” content. This move by the developer of the game might be a result of the pressure from the government.
