Microsoft Xbox Live video downloads coming to Europe later this year
Microsoft has announced that they would be launching their Xbox 360 Elite edition in the European markets later this year.
The company had another good news for the gamers in the European nations. Microsoft confirmed that their Xbox Live Video download service would also be launched in this region sometime later this year.
This service is currently available only in United States and it allows the gamer to download movies and TV shows in either standard or high-definition format.
Jeff Bell, global marketing manager at Microsoft’s Interactive Entertainment Business said in a statement at the E3 Media & Business Summit: “Starting this fall, we’re going global with high-definition downloads in Canada and Europe.”
Xbox 360 Elite pricing for the European nations has not been revealed yet. The console is sold for US$479 in the U.S.
Microsoft’s Xbox Live store currently has around 2,000 hours of video content for download. This include around 500 hours of high-definition content. The company claimed that they have already earned close to around US$125 million in revenue from video downloads on Xbox Live.
