Unreal Tournament 3 would be an exclusive to PC and Playstation 3 this year

Midway, Epic and Sony have together announced that their upcoming gaming title Unreal Tournament 3 would be an exclusive offering for the PC and Playstation 3 console this year.

This means that the game would be made available only on one of the next three generation gaming consoles.

The game is expected to be launched in November this year and is also going to allow PS3 gamers to play the mods made for the PC version.

Steve Allison, chief marketing officer, Midway spoke on this new development: “Midway is extremely excited to release Unreal Tournament 3 on the PLAYSTATION 3 system and PC. We expect Unreal Tournament 3 to set the bar for what a first-person shooter and next generation game can truly be.”

The game takes full advantage of the power of the PLAYSTATION 3 system, and Unreal Tournament 3 will for the first time allow users to create robust user created content, known as “mods”, on the PC version and play them on the PLAYSTATION 3 system. We’re extremely excited about this and we feel this will bring a level of creativity, innovation and replayability not previously seen on home consoles.”
