HD DVD for Xbox 360 to cost less and include five free movies

Microsoft is finally realizing that to boost the popularity of HD DVD players they need to do more than just offer the player for their Xbox 360 console.

The company has now announced that they are cutting the price of this add-on for the Xbox 360 console.

The HD DVD drive for the Xbox 360 would now cost US$179 in the U.S. starting August 1. They are also going to give away five free movies with the drive for the next two months.

Microsoft further revealed that they would be offering “300″ Movie on its online service Xbox Live on demand starting Aug. 14.

Microsoft Xbox 360 console lacks the capability to support any next generation format. In comparison, Sony ships each of their Playstation 3 console with a Blu-Ray drive.
