Rockstar is now appealing Manhunt 2 ban in UK
Videogame developers Rockstar has now confirmed that they are appealing the ban of Manhunt 2 in UK.
The game was rejected by the BBFC (British Board of Film Classification) which is the UK equivalent of America’s ESRB.
David Cooke, director of the BBFC spoke on the ban: “Where possible we try to consider cuts or, in the case of games, modifications which remove the material which contravenes the Board’s published Guidelines. In the case of Manhunt 2 this has not been possible.”
Rockstar said in its statement: “Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. confirmed today that Rockstar Games has appealed the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) decision that prohibited the release of any version of Manhunt 2 in Britain.”
The game was originally scheduled for the launch in July. The game is now postponed as the company tries to get a suitable rating in the UK market.
