John Schappert is a new face at the Microsoft Xbox division
Microsoft has announced that they have now appointed John Schappert as their corporate vice president of Live, software and services in the Microsoft Interactive Entertainment Business.
John Schappert was earlier an executive vice president at EA which is the world’s largest publisher of videogames.
Schappert would now be taking care of several activities at Microsoft related to their Xbox Live service.
The company said that he would be focusing on expanding Live’s online services and broadening the audience using it.
The service allows gamers to play with and against each other online. In addition, they are also able to buy digital media from their Live store.
This is incidentally just the latest example of how the executives are shuffling between Microsoft and EA. Recently, Peter Moore, formerly the head of Microsoft’s Xbox and Windows gaming initiatives, joined EA as their president of EA Sports division.
