Sequel to Battlefield 1942 due This Year
Battlefield was the most popular online shooter next to CS, and still holds its own online, just because of the sheer amount of fun you could have with it. Even demo servers are full during prime time. Its fun, addictive, and just plain awesome, if ya ask me. However, the phenomenal game is showing signs of aging now. Good thing too, considering the sequel is due fall this year. Battlefield 2 takes the game play model of the precursor and sets it in modern day conflict areas: China and the Middle East.

The game play remains intact, with the rock-paper-scissors variety of stratagem, and the action relentless, with newer weapons, vehicles and 12 brand new levels. The graphics have been significantly tweaked, with better models as well as better lighting and shadows.

The bigger changes are the new team focused additions, including the squad system, the new scoring system, and a new Commander mode. The commander mode essentially lets you play the game in an RTS mode, commanding your teammates, dropping supply crates, launching spy bombs etc. The players can vote a player off and install a new commander as well. There is not much not to like here, and the demo is arriving soon. You might want to start polishing your skills, brah.

ive just played the demp multiplayer and while parts of it are interesting I am very dissapointed in the flight models as there very clumsy and are prone to fliping and otherwise crashing into the ground the controls in joint operation are much more direct and intuitive you spend most of your time trying not to crash instead of having fun or supporting your friends.
