EA launches four games for the Apple Mac platform

World’s largest videogame publisher Electronic Arts has finally launched four of the six games they promised on the Apple Mac platform.

These games are: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Need for Speed Carbon, Battlefield 2142 and Command & Conquer Tiberium Wars.

These games can now be ordered straight from the Apple Store. These games would also be sold in the Apple Retail Stores in the coming days.

Apple spokesman Anuj Nayar spoke on these new developments: “We’re thrilled that the world’s number one games company is making this major commitment to the Mac and game fans are going to love playing these new EA titles on a Mac.”

Apple added that for the time being the games would only be available through official Apple Stores.

EA spokesperson Tammy Schachter added on the delayed launch of these gaming titles: “Over time, as EA gains experience in completing and shipping Mac games, the gap will narrow. This is a huge leap compared with past launches. We’ve shorted the gap between the Mac launch and other platforms to just a few weeks.”

The company is using Cider technology provided by TransGaming to make available these games on the Apple platform.
