Sony updates Folding@home Client on Playstation 3
Sony has released an update for their Playstation 3 gaming console which enhances their Folding@home Client.
This client is essentially a distributed computing project aimed at understanding protein folding, misfolding and related diseases.
Sony had released the first version of this client for the PS3 in March this year. And the new updated released now adds several feature as demanded by their customers.
The company said that the updated client features an improved, more accurate core that runs on the SPU.
It also features a completely revised the rendering engine for the molecules.
Sony added that the client can also extend itself to the Playstation Portable device. As a result, gamers would be able to check the progress of the client on their PSPs.
