Sony showcases PlayTV for Playstation 3
Sony has announced a new device for their Playstation 3 gaming console. This new device is a TV tuner which plugs into the PS3.
This would enable the owners of the PS3 to record and playback digital TV on their console.
They are planning to launch this device in the European market sometime early next year. Sony said that the recorded television content could then be streamed over a wireless internet connection to the portable PSP.
Gamers would also be able to transfer the content to the PSP using a USB cable.
David Reeves, president of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe added that this device would extend the “broad entertainment credentials of PS3″.
The company did not reveal any price related information of this device which is expected to boost the usability of the PS3 console which has till now failed to make a dent in the sales of Microsoft Xbox 360.
