Sony Playstation 3 sales improved but still not good enough
Sony recently announced a USD 100 cut on their Playstation 3 gaming console. The price cut seems to have worked wonders for the company as the sales of this next generation console improved 61-percent month-over-month.
However, it was still not good enough to overtake the sales of Xbox 360 whose prices were also reduced recently.
Nintendo Wii continues to shine in terms of sales in the markets around the world. Nintendo sold 425,000 and 405,000 units of Wii and DS gaming consoles in the month of July in the US market.
The company also managed to claim three spots in the top ten selling games in the month of July. These were: Wii Play at number three, Mario Party 8 at number five, and Pokemon Diamond Version at number seven.
Microsoft in comparison was able to sell around 170,000 Xbox 360s in July. Sony sold 159,000 units of Playstation 3 gaming console last month.
