Sony Playstation 3 still no challenger to Wii in Japan
Nintendo Wii continues to dominate the sales chart in the Japanese market as it went on to sell around a quarter of a million machines during August.
Sony in comparison sold around 80,000 Playstation 3s in the Japanese market. Microsoft is still struggling as they sold just 11,000 Xbox 360s.
These figures were released by the Japanese game magazine publisher Enterbrain.
Nintendo just recently managed to set a record in the UK market as Wii became that market’s fastest selling console in history.
Nintendo is currently on its way to ship 16.5 million Wii consoles by 31 March 2008. It is also closing in on overtaking the Xbox 360 in terms of global sales.
