Intel acquiring games software tools company Havok
Microprocessor industry giant Intel has announced that they are now acquiring Irish company Havok.
This company specializes in providing software and services to the games and movie industries.
Intel plans to enhance their products and services related to visual computing and graphics industry.
Havok has provided technology for some of the most well known games released in the recent times including “BioShock,” “Stranglehold,” “Halo 2,” and “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.”
Intel has announced this deal just ahead of their upcoming Intel Developer Forum where they are going to announce their next-generation chip making technology.
This deal is important for Intel as their main rival AMD recently acquired ATI which is a major graphic card vendor in the market.
