Sony PSP manages to outsell Nintendo DS in Japan!
Research firm Media Create has claimed in a report that Sony’s recently updated Playstation Portable gaming device has finally managed to outsell the Nintendo DS in the Japanese market.
The report stated that for the week ending September 16, the PSP sold a total of 95,487 units. This is a major jump compared to sales in the recent times.
Sony gained from the launch of the slimmer edition of the PSP and the launch of the Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII game for this device.
Nintendo DS sold around 79,974 units. This is disappointing considering sales are usually above 100,000 units for this console.
Nintendo Wii however continues to dominate in regular console sales. It sold 26,181 units. Sony Playstation 2 sold 13,128 units. PS3 saw sales of 13,101 units. Microsoft posted yet another terrible sales figure for the Xbox 360. It sold 1,243 units.
