Sony’s updated PSP player a huge hit in Japan

A recent report claimed that Sony’s recently launched slimmer Playstation Portable gaming device managed to outsell the Nintendo DS console for the first time this year.

Another report now claims that the company managed to sell about 250,000 units of the new PSP in Japan in the first four days of launch.

This figure is pretty impressive considering the company has managed to sell these many units in around two months before the launch.

These figures were released by the videogame magazine publisher Enterbrain.

Sony’s updated PSP is selling in the market for 19,800 yen which is a bit cheaper than the original PSP. It is still expensive compared to the Nintendo DS which costs 16,800 yen in Japan.
