ATI releases version 5.6 of the Catalyst graphics-tuning suite

Graphic Card developers ATI have released an update to their Catalyst software. This software comes extremely handy for the gamers to fine-tune their settings on their machines to make the most out of their hardware. A lot of new features are in store for the gamers who update their ATI card software to this latest version.

This version 5.6 comes with a real-time video preview with on-the-fly adjustments, monthly software upgrades for notebooks, plug-and-play HDTV connectivity, and a simpler Linux driver installer for open-source uses. ATI is also claiming massive performance improvements from their graphic cards if this particular update is used especially in resource intensive games, which demand a lot from the hardware.

Ben Bar-Haim, VP of Software at ATI Technologies spoke to the media about this improved release: ‘With the launch of Catalyst 5.6 we take software innovation to the next level, broadening our footprint to support notebook PCs and defining a new standard for video control and usability. This release also comes with support for graphic cards optimized for the mobile computers like Mobility Radeon X700 and Mobility Radeon X800 GPUs, with more to follow and it is freely available from the company’s website.
