Anti-Phishing Phil designed to teach web users about phishing

Carnegie Mellon University scientists have developed a game which they claim would inform the users about the phishing scandals on the web.

The game has been named Anti-Phishing Phil and it features a cartoon fish named Phil. It has been tested at their Privacy and Security Laboratory as well.

The developers claim that users who spend 15 minutes with this game would be able to more correctly recognize discern fraudulent Web sites. This is more effective than just reading about them online.

They are now planning to provide the game on a bigger scale so that more people can play on it to get informed.

This project was sponsored by National Science Foundation and the Army Research Office. It is also part of the CMU antiphishing research initiative.
