Manhunt 2 continues to remain banned in UK
British regulators have said that the Manhunt 2 game updates have still not changed the basic nature of the game and it would remain banned in the country.
Take Two Interactive Inc. has earlier this year suspended the launch of the game to make sure it would get a rating decent enough to be sold in retail stores around the world.
Manhunt 2 has been developed by Take-Two’s studio Rockstar Games and it allows the gamer to take the role of an escapee from a mental institution. He then goes on a killing spree.
The updated version of the game has been accepted by the game rating agencies in the US market.
Take Two is currently scheduled to launch the game on Halloween for PS2, PSP and Nintendo Wii gaming console.
Rockstar Games had this to say on this latest setback in UK: “The changes necessary in order to publish the game in Britain are unacceptable to us and represent a setback for video games. The BBFC allows adults the freedom to decide for themselves when it comes to horror in movies and we think adults should be similarly allowed to decide for themselves when it comes to horror in video games, such as Manhunt 2.”
