Xbox 360 sales managed to overtake Wii sales in the US
Microsoft has finally managed to overtake the sales of Nintendo Wii with their Xbox 360 consoles.
However, the credit goes to their recently launched Halo 3 videogame title for the Xbox 360 console.
As per market reports Microsoft sold a total of 528,000 Xbox 360s in the U.S. in the month of September.
In comparison, Nintendo Wii sold 501,000 units. Sony Playstation 3 continues to struggle in comparison with sales of 119,000 units.
David Dennis, an Xbox spokesman spoke about these figures: “They’re great numbers. They’re certainly what we’d expected them to be.”
It remains to be seen on how long the Halo effect would help Microsoft in their quest against Wii and PS3.
