Sony Playstation 3 sales improving in Japan

Nintendo Wii continued its domination in the Japanese market. The console outsold the Sony Playstation 3 2-to-1 in Japan in October.

However, this is in fact a much improved performance by Sony. Nintendo Wii has been outselling the PS3 since the launch but the difference between the numbers was much less last month.

Nintendo Wii sold around 110,415 units in the month of October as per the figures made available. In comparison, Sony managed to sell 47,183 units of the PS3.

Wii in the past managed to outsell the PS3 by 4-to-1 unit margin. Looks like Sony is finally making a comeback as they get more games.

Microsoft continued to play a smaller role in the market with sales of 18,717 units in Japan of its Xbox 360.
