Microsoft delivering ESPN programming on Xbox Live

Software giant Microsoft has announced their new deal with ESPN. This deal would enable Microsoft to deliver ESPN programming on their Xbox Live service.

The two companies are now providing fresh content for purchase on the service. This would include days-old, full-length NCAA college football and basketball games.

It also includes Summer X Games 13 and episodes of shows like “World Series of Poker,” “The Contender” and “Madden Nation.”

This is a good deal for Microsoft as ESPN was till now providing its content on their rival service Apple iTunes.

Ross Honey, senior director of the media and entertainment group at Microsoft spoke about this collaboration: “This is only the second deal ESPN has done regarding electronic sell-through, and we think it’s a fantastic match for our platform and our consumer base, many of whom are avid sports fans.”
