Trend Micro provides a security service for Sony Playstation 3

Looks like videogame consoles would soon require antivirus products of their own. Trend Micro has announced that they are now providing a security service for Sony’s PlayStation 3.

This service blocks access to harmful websites which the gamer can access through the web browser on the PS3 console.

This service is being delivered to the gamers worldwide as part of Sony’s 2.00 firmware update.

It would be made available for free till April next year. Pricing architecture after that are yet not released.

The company said that the service would check for the websites being accessed by the gamer and would compare it with their database. If it is determined to be harmful for the end user, it would be blocked.
