Take-Two Interactive gets rid of the Hot Coffee lawsuits

Videogame developers Take-Two Interactive have announced that they have reached a preliminary settlement on all consumer class action lawsuits in the US market related to the Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas videogame.

These lawsuits were related to a hack which unlocked unsuitable sexual content in the game which was never to be seen by the gamers.

If this deal is accepted by the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, it would bring great legal relief to the company.

This settlement offers a cash payment of up to $35 for customers who can provide the company with proof that they bought the game before July 20, 2005. They also get an option to get an edited copy of game without this locked content.

The funny thing is that most customers who opt for the $35 will use that money to buy GTAIV.
