Mass Effect banned in Singapore
Singapore Board of Film Censors has banned the Mass Effect videogame title for the Microsoft Xbox 360 gaming platform.
The game has been banned as it includes an intimate scene between two female characters.
The Board of Film Censors said in a statement that the game contains a scene of lesbian intimacy… as such the game has been disallowed.
This game is scheduled for launch next week. The Singapore government does not allow games which feature exploitative or gratuitous sex and violence, or denigrate any race or religion.
Microsoft responded in a statement on this new development: “We strictly adhere to the laws, regulations and norms of the markets we operate in.”
