Sony PlayStation 3 sales improve in USA
Sony has said that they are now seeing improved sales of their Playstation 3 gaming console on the US market.
The sales more than doubled in the weeks after Sony announced price cuts on their latest gaming console.
Sony also did good by launching a new cheaper variant of the PS3 console which lacks some features available on the more expensive variant.
Sony Corp. CEO Howard Stringer said in a statement: “It’s the breakthrough we’ve been anticipating. We’ve been holding our breath.”
He added: “Obviously, we’ve taken so much heat over the year on PS3. Finally, the turning point has been passed.”
Sony is also somewhat gaining from the lack of supplies from Nintendo. Wii supplies remain a problem for Nintendo as they sell everything that is delivered to the stores.
