Revolution might arrive after Sony PlayStation 3
Nintendo held its shareholder meeting last week and the big news (and disappointing one as well) was that the President of the company Satoru Iwata hinted on delayed launch of their upcoming next generation gaming console Nintendo Revolution. So much so, that it is even expected to launch after Sony launches their much awaited PlayStation 3.
The newest entry into the arena Microsoft would be the first one out of the Block with Xbox 360 expected to be out this year itself. Sony PlayStation 3 is only due to release sometime in the middle of the next year. If Nintendo Revolution is going to arrive later than PlayStation 3, it just might be way too late for them to make an impression.
Satoru Iwata said in the statement answering a question during the conference: “There is no possibility that the Revolution’s launch will fall behind by too much, but there might be some small changes [in its launch date].” The only date Nintendo has released till now has been sometime in 2006 and this latest news is somewhat disappointing to the fans of the company and its legendary franchise.
The company however made it clear that they are fully prepared to face anything as they have a long term strategy to make use of their archive full of legendary gaming characters with Nintendo Revolution. The company has announced a number of first-party games for this upcoming gaming machine, including new versions of Super Mario, Legend of Zelda, Smash Bros., Metroid, and Donkey Kong franchises.
