ASUS powerful hardware recommended to take PC gaming to the next level!
Mumbai, India, December 11th, 2007: After its outstanding success last year, the World GameMaster Tournament is here once again to challenge the skill and wits of PC Gamers.
ASUS, the leading technology manufacturer has brought this competition to India. This time around, major gaming hardware and chipset vendors like Kingston, Razer and AGEIA have come together along with ASUS to provide the best solutions for gamers to compete.
The World GameMaster Tournament popularly known by its acronym WGT, is a PC gaming initiative supported primarily by ASUS, who is the world’s leading hardware technology company. ASUS manufactures some of the world’s best motherboards, graphics cards, CPU coolers, gaming chassis, LCD Monitors, notebooks, optical drives, PDA Phones, server and networking products. The company also offers special products for the gaming fraternity like overclocking components, gaming LCD monitors, gaming chassis and CPU coolers etc.
Mr. Andrew Tsui, Managing Director, ASUS India said, “ASUS believes in allowing the gamers to experience for themselves the best technology for gaming. That’s the reason why the WGT is not just a competition but also a learning experience for gamers as well as others to learn how to choose the right components for your PC system for optimum performance.”
The WGT was initiated last year and very well accepted by gamers. Both professional and hobby gamers turned out in huge numbers all over the country to participate in the tournament.
WGT preliminaries were held in Chandigarh, Delhi, Chennai and Bangalore. The Mumbai preliminaries will be held on the 13th & 14th December 2007.
Five qualifying teams from each city will compete against each other at the National Grand Finale to be held in Mumbai at the Earth Castle mall on the 15th December 2007. The grand finale winners will walk away with some of the best gaming graphics cards from ASUS.
The WGT Gaming Machines are powered by the EN8800GT TOP 512 MB special overclocked edition graphics cards. SmartDoctor an intelligent hardware protection and over clocking tool helps in easy manual overclocking with an ease of a slide bar. The patented AI NOS™ (Non-delay Over clocking System) technology on the powerful ASUS M2N-E motherboard intelligently detects system load and automatically boosts performance for the most demanding tasks. The WGT Gaming Machines are truly meant for the hardcore gamers who require nothing but pure power to exploit the maximum potential of their PCs.
Action and strategy games like Counter Strike, Call of Duty 2, F.E.A.R. and DOTA All Stars have been selected as official games in the WGT this year.
Apart from competitions to be held, the latest innovations and technologies in gaming hardware will be showcased at the event. The gamers are quite enthusiastic about the event. For the first time in India, such high-end games have been used in a national level gaming tournament. Says Amit Jaokar, Technical Promotion Manager & WGT Project Leader, ASUS India, “WGT will create a thrilling environment for gamers to compete in. It will also allow them to experience the cutting edge performance of powerful gaming hardware. He further adds, “To run any high – end game, the gaming hardware should be sturdy and must be equipped with the latest in technology, which is exactly what ASUS products offer to gamers.”
WGT is also conducted in many countries across the world such as Australia, Singapore, United Kingdom, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, China and many more.
ASUS has dedicated a special website to WGT called http://in.worldgamemaster.org where gamers can login to find tournament details, additional information and also participate in various gaming forums.
“Speed, one of the most important factors in gaming, can mean the difference between winning and losing a competition,” said Nitin Malhotra, Country Manager, India, Kingston Technology, “Kingston’s high performance, HyperX memory modules, provide gamers who look for extreme performance with extra edge through superior speed, reliability and performance,” he added.
