Nintendo announces rain check for Wii shoppers
Nintendo wants people to get the Wii they wanted and they have now announced a rain check program for the shoppers this holiday season.
The company said that this program would help the shoppers to get the Wii gaming console in case they fail to find a unit during the holiday season rush.
Customers paying the full price for the console for an out-of-stock Wii on December 20 and 21 at retailer GameStop would get a certificate guaranteeing them a unit in January next year.
They are working on this program exclusively with GameStop. Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime added: “We expect this to be a very strong program and … a great way for consumers who desperately want a Wii to be able to have something to put under the tree — a certificate that guarantees their family will be able to get a system in January.”
He also said that they are working extra hard to make sure that Wii units are available at all the major retailing stores in the coming weeks.
