Nintendo worried about Wii shortage in the market
Nintendo Wii has been a smashing success for the company in the market. The innovative gaming console continues to remain in high demand even after a year after the launch.
So much so that it is pretty tough for potential customers in the US market to locate a unit in the retail stores.
Nintendo has been working hard on making sure that the supplies are continues but they have failed to meet the high demand.
Even their handheld gaming device DS is in high demand this holiday season. Nintendo has admitted that the high demand (and relatively low supplies) is hurting their business plans.
Reggie Fils-Aime, president of Nintendo of America said in a statement: “The level of demand we are facing complicates all of our future business planning. All of that becomes a much tougher exercise until we have supply and demand curves that intersect.”
He added: “The DS continues to perform exceptionally well, with some retailers voicing concerns about DS inventory going into the holiday.”
The company also is not happy with the retailers who try to sell bundles of Wii rather than just the console itself.
