Sony Playstation 3 now supports Blu-ray Profile 1.1, DivX and VC-1 video

Sony has released a new firmware update for their Playstation 3 gaming console. This update adds support for the Blu-ray Profile 1.1.

The latest firmware for the PS3 is in version 2.10 and it also brings support for Picture-in-Picture, secondary audio and video streams.

There is more good news for the owners of this console. This latest firmware update also brings support for popular file formats DivX and VC-1 video.

The company has however not yet confirmed on when they would release support for BD-Live.
