Rockstar continues to deny presence of sexual material in GTA: San Andreas

The popular videogame GTA: San Andreas continues to remain in news for the rumors claiming that the game DVDs contain hidden sexually explicit mini games, which can be unlocked by downloading a mod from the Internet. the company has repeatedly denied any such reports to be true and continue to claim that the games is what the rating agency saw in their reviews and it should retain its current rating for sales in the market.

The game is already rated M (mature) for its violent nature by the ESRB in North America. The game has also come under heavy criticism by the Californian assembly member Leland Yee who accused ESRB for being insensitive to the society by letting these games go for sale in the market. He has been claiming since a long time that videogame rating agencies allow games to let through with lower ratings than they actually deserve.

In the case of GTA, the board is now considering whether the game’s rating should be increased to a rare AO (Adults Only) rating and is conducting investigations into the content of the game. ESRB president Patricia Vance said in a statement to the media defending her organization: “If after a thorough and objective investigation of all the relevant facts surrounding this modification, we determine a violation of our rules has occurred, we will take appropriate action.”

Rockstar on their part are claiming that the reported content is not the part of the game DVDs shipped from the company. Instead, the mod downloaded from the Internet adds that content and makes it available to the users. The creator of the mod instead claims that his code merely makes the hidden content already available inside the game available to the gamers.
